Edge Shelf | Coffee Waste Dark

The Edge Shelf is made of our circular waste material Matek and is available in either a Coffee Waste Light or Coffee Waste Dark.

Designed by Danish design studio Sarahlou The Edge Shelf is an interpretation of a shelf in its simplest form. Sarahlou has created a minimalist shelf consisting of thin Matek panels that almost float on the wall.

The Edge Shelf is equally suited for private and public use. Use it as a solitary shelf or place several shelves alongside or above each other.

Sustainability ⌵

Cutting-edge technology allows Mater to make furniture from waste materials in their patented Matek® material by combining fibre with a binder. The Matek® is made by mixing e-waste with either coffee waste from Danish coffee producer BKI Kaffe or wood waste.

E-waste is a growing environmental concern across the globe due to the world’s use and throwaway
culture. Only 17.4% of total global e-waste is known to have been collected and properly recycled. This figure has dropped over the last five years as a percentage of total waste generated.
